Yesterday we visited Wat Mongkolratanaram, a Buddhist Thai temple on the Palm River bank in Tampa. On Sundays, they have a Thai food market to raise money for the temple.
Ray’s mom, Saijai, is from Thailand, and she and Ray’s stepdad, Paul, go there pretty often for the food. They knew we’d enjoy, so they brought us to check it out.
I’m not the most adventurous when it comes to food, so I stuck with Pad Thai and some mango and sweet sticky rice. Ray and Paul had a Thai soup. Sai bought lots of other things for us to try: fried bananas, papaya salad, chicken on a stick, and a bunch more.

Afterward, we walked around the grounds, checked out some plants, and watched the huge catfish in the river. We stepped into the temple for a quick lesson on the ways of Buddhist monks. The temple was beautiful and the lesson enlightening.
